PLSS Foundation

The Public Lands Survey System Foundation (PLSSF) was created as a joint effort of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), an agency of the United States Department of Interior (USDI), and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS).

The PLSSF is incorporated as a non-profit and non-stock entity under the laws of the State of Maryland, and exists to conduct a wide variety of activities for the benefit of the Public Lands Survey System, which was created by the federal government in 1785 to control the location of title rights throughout the public domain.

Activities include:  educational programs, printing and distribution of documents and books, scholarships, project funding, and grants; all of which must benefit the preservation and knowledge about the Public Lands Survey System.

Below are links to the original 2008 Memorandum between the two entities as well as the Charter of the Foundation itself.
